Re: Super Pointy!

I was gonna say you're skulls are gonna be upside down, but then I remembered you play left handed.

I always liked that body shape. What color is it going to be?

I think I'm just going to oil it. It's hard to see in the pix, but it has some really nice grain to it and I'd hate to cover it up.

looking sweet I like it

Spanks!

Nice! Wheres the body from?

Body came from KNE guitars. Mitch does spectacular work for the price.

Re: Super Pointy!

that looks great. i took a look at their website and their body shapes look ridiculously better than warmoth's. i may finally get a custom V done afterall.

I was just comparing my pix to a buddy of mine Mustaine King V and they are really close. The only thing I can see other than obviously it's a bolt on, is the bevels on the KNE V aren't quite as wide as a Jackson. He can't really make them exact though or FMIC could come down on him. Warmoths KV bodies are nothing like a Jacko.

Re: Super Pointy!

That looks stunning.

Just a thought but this guitar just SCREAMS for trans black. Think about it, you get to keep the grain and just make it the way it was meant to be (with the black headstock and all :9:).
Oh, and chrome hardware and pu rings (if you use any) is I must me thinks ;)

EDIT: On second thought I could also easily see it in gold. Yeah, I think gold could work just as well/better.
Just not black...

Trans black on Mahogany doesn't look real good and Mahogany is really porous.

I'm glad you think gold hardware would work cuz I got a whole box of gold hardware for it!

My buddy had this guitar awhile back and that's really what inspired me to do this one.

^holy jesus!

nice guitar bro. the only V that i like ironically. cuz i don't play metal at all

Re: Super Pointy!

So looking at the KNE website it doesn't look like they make necks? Does any typical Strat type neck fit?

I believe he can do them to standard strat dimension or the bigger Jackson 2 1/4" neck pockets. Mine is standard Strat dimensions and it's a perfect fit. Not so tight that you have beat it in there, but tight enough that it takes some hand pressure to seat the neck in the pocket and you can pick the whole thing up w/out the body falling off the heel.

Re: Super Pointy!

Your friend's guitar has the horns backwards...
(yeah, I say that AFTER I saw it was a lefty)

IMO when the two horns aren't the same length then it is the lower horn that should be the longer, otherwise the guitar will be taking a serious nose dive when on a strap...

Other than that, me likey :)

Re: Super Pointy!

Love it Bro! Natural finish should look great!

No Floyd? :boggled:

is that one of those KH model necks?

Re: Super Pointy!

Hum single? I don't care what you do with it, it will rock.

Thanks Jeff! It is indeed KH model neck. I stumbled on to a guy on Ebay that somehow ended up w/ a whole pallet of necks from discontinued LTD guitars. So I bought 2. Now I"m wishing I would have bought more because the back profile on these are incredible!

Nope, no Floyd on this one. Hard to comprehend coming from me I know! I got to thinking before I started building this one. If I finish and keep all of my Kramer projects, I'll have 12 Floyded axes. So I went w/ the Tune O Matic/Stoptail setup. I did leave the locknut on the neck because I like the feel they give the strings. So I bought a Gibby TP6 Fine tuner tail pc!
