see, i was actually asking for opinions and experience, the wattage wasnt really that important...but it was just a hidden question i guess

The original Super Reverbs BF were rated for 40 watts...I Know because I owned 1......Not sure why they now rate it at 45 watts? It's the same amp as my 66 Pro Reverb except it has 4x10s and a transformer rated to handle a 2 ohm load..

I don't know if the RIs live up to their namesake or not, but the original SRs are great blues/R&B amps. You want organic presence, you got it.

Hi John, The blackface Pro Reverb used a smaller output transformer than the blackface Super Reverb. The Pro Reverb used the same output tranny as the Bandmaster.

The Bassman head used the 4 ohm version of the 2 ohm tranny the Super Reverb used.

So that's why the 40 watt/45 watt difference.

I put a blackface Bassman OT in my Pro Reverb once just to see what diff it made. It made the Pro Reverb louder and cleaner.
