super-switch wiring 4 strat

I've got 3 single coils that I want like this:

1) bridge
2) bridge-middle
3) bridge-neck
4) middle-neck
5) neck

I know the Mega-switch that StewMac sells can be wired up like this but I haven't been able to find a diagram that will let me use a Super-switch to get these combinations.

Anyone?

That is the Mega Switch, I'm looking for a diagram using a Super Switch!

Re: super-switch wiring 4 strat

you can get what you want with any 5 way, as long as it has 2 poles.

Re: super-switch wiring 4 strat

I pointed the bottom tone control to the bridge for the same reason as the MegaEswitch did

so you have a neck and bridge tone control

put each pickup in one pole
put the volume on the fourth pole

make cross connects to land power at which ever pickups you want on at what position the switch is

sorry to take so long to get back had to play my own guitar for a bit
:)

Re: super-switch wiring 4 strat

Take into account that this wiring works in the OPOSITE way. Corresponds to what you asked BUT is reversed respect of the standard wiring.

Usually, 1 = Neck, 2 = Neck + Middle, 3 = Middle, 4 = Middle + Bridge, 5 = Bridge.

You asked in the oposite way and our forum mate draw it as you requested it but, for sure, when you have the blade up you will select bridge, instead of neck.

Just FYI.

well you can always:
A) flip the switch over:approve:
B) swap neck and bridge leads:scratchch
C) fall in love with backwards guitar:naughty:

Re: super-switch wiring 4 strat

????

You guys are confusing things that don't need to be confused...lol.

Maybe I should have numbered them backward...didn't realize it would cause problems

5) bridge
4) bridge-middle
3) bridge-neck
2) middle-neck
1) neck

Happy now? I want a normal strat but with bridge-neck in the middle position.

Re: super-switch wiring 4 strat

sorry to be confusing

but this is a forum where people think out loud

we we just commenting

you go ahead hook it up

we'll wait

Edit :
meant to put a smiley face on that
just reread it and it sounded snide

not what I meant at all

but I am curious to see if it works

if I got it rite

I am always surprized when things actually work

yeah my last project
<<<hmmm it was my first guitar project too
anyways I ended up with 1 superswitch and 1 Carvin standard strat switch leftover
( I've had the Carvin laying in the box for ten years now )
I think I'm gonna use it in my next project

the HSH in my signature line is getting new pickups

and I'm mulling over how I want to do the switching

I'm thinking

standard strat switching

neck
neck/middle
middle
bridge/middle
bridge

(notice no numbers heheheheheh)

with push/pull volume for coilspltting both humbuckers
( that will give me classic strat with the standard switch )

and push/pull tone for the "bridge always on"
( for the super double fat strat )

still just thinking out loud

feel free to ignore me
:scratchch

Re: super-switch wiring 4 strat

Just finished...You got it right !:1::1::1: :thanks:

Having the middle position bridge/neck is far more useful then just a middle pickup.

I've put SSL-5's in the bridge and neck and combined in the middle position they sound great!

An SSL-2 in the middle gives the quack positions the perfect "airy" sound which I was worried about due to the darkness of the SSL-5's.

Very happy with this setup.

Ehdwuld, I have another question now that we're on the same page...lol.

Could I add the middle pu to the middle position as well, giving me all 3 pickups on...and would it be hum canceling as in positions 2 & 4?????

Cool Glad it worked:clap:
the first diagram?
ya mean the megaEswitch in post #3?

ok

:headbang:

Re: super-switch wiring 4 strat

if the middle pu is reverse wound then it should be hum canceling

you can add it with a push/pull pot

in the manner i was discussing in my rambling

as an "always on" switch

hmmmmmm
the bridge and neck combo you got isnt humcanceling is it

both standard wound

hmmmmmm
