Oh, no. Mike is mesmerized by another's guitar...LOL. Look out, clone #501 is in the works...LMAO!!!

Re: Superstrat Users Unite!!!

LOL #501 hahahaha. nah, not that many (yet) although Clones 2, 4, 6 and 7 or 8 (still haven't decided on numbers there lol) should all be done fairly soon. necks have been arriving, bodies shipping from paint along with parts on the way. lots of work ahead!! plus i have plans for 3 more and a rebuild (new body/paint color) on clone 1.

i think i'd have about 50 guitars right now. and i'd start selling them too

Re: Superstrat Users Unite!!!

lol, well i pretty much gave up with factory built guitars. i ordered my custom shop strathead charvel and for the most part from here on out i will just build what i want. i love building them and i have good connections now since i've done so many. once a few of them got done and i realized i can build a guitar that plays just as good as my high dollar real charvels and Wayne i figure what's the point paying for their headstock logo and getting 90% what i want when i could spec it out 100% how i want it and get it done faster and for less cash but still at the same quality. i do owe my luthier big for his amazing fret level/dress work to get them to play so well!! plus it's nice to know the guitar i'm playing is one i designed and built! oh and the last 3 clones, won't be strat shaped :D

For the record (Rich and Zerb will for sure will see this...lol) I have nothing against Jacksons, great guitars. They're just not my thing.
Nothing wrong with Kramers in my book. The ones around here are all plywood, though. I need to find me a good one.

I know that. But I also know the Jackson user base. You folks are a very loyal bunch and will defend them in a moment's notice. That's why I had to put that little disclaimer in there. ;)

As long as it wasn't ESP, you'll probably be safe. :D

It's always best not to stir the waters, though.

LOL....honestly, my '88 Kramer is one of the ESP made ones. :nervous:
They made the parts, then shipped them to the Kramer facility in NJ where they were assembled.

Re: Superstrat Users Unite!!!

I'm definitely feeling superstrat GAS too. The new San Dimas Charvels look really nice as do the new Wayne series, especially the ones with maple necks. At the same time, I'm really GASing for a Gibson V.

I already own a superstrat in my Schecter C-1. It really just fit everything I wanted in a guitar: mahogany body, abalone ornamentation, set neck, string-thru, highly playable, with probably the most practical and comfortable body shape ever created.

However, now I'm feeling the need for something a little different. All my guitars have rosewood fingerboards, dual humbuckers, and fixed bridges. Not saying that I'm tired of my stuff, but I think it's time for something new.

So much GAS, so little money.

Re: Superstrat Users Unite!!!

I quite like superstrats; I might get me a cheap Ibanez RG321 just for tw@tting about on - it'd be nice to have a cheap H/H second guitar with an extra couple of frets. They do modern jazz surprisingly well (I once bought an RG550 for this purpose, stuck a block of mahogany in the trem and put 11s on it...)
