Pickups are here and I cant wait.
My wiring harness and knobs wont be here for couple days. But I can install the pups on the guard and reset the action while I wait.
Then Ill build the harness and install the reflector top hat knobs

Yes it is.A late 2022. Its a nice axe. I have this one and a Brown 2017 Faded.
The Faded has a thinner C neck and a bit smoother fingerboard. This one has the fatter neck(50s LP contour maybe?) The fingerboard wasnt finished very well when I got it though. I had to oil it and OOO steel wool it quiet a bit.
Well worth the savings vs a Standard if yur Gassing

I like the Faded and Tribute series Gibsons. I like the feel of the satin finish and that finish has a certain something that translates to the open-ness of the tone on those guitars, or so I've read. Both of my Gibbos with that finish ring out like crazy. I bet that one does as well.

I am a fan of the faded series, and thinner finishes in general. I don't tend to stick to them in the Florida heat and humidity.

Yea they both ring out abd resonate well.
The Brown Faded sounded better than the Standards they had on the wall when I got it.
Now the Tribute I bought cause I played the faded to death. I wanted another ti preserve the 1st one. First I bought an SG Jr with that beautiful red gloss laquer(my co guitarist has a 63' I lusted for). I could not get it to resonate the same allways sounded brittle. So I traded it in for the Red Tribute Im putting pups in.
Cause I do like the 490T Im leaving my Faded Stock( other than the harness I put in it) and modding this Tribute with Duncans.
I will say they added an extra coat of laquer on the tribute its more glossy and the grain less open. The faded after 9.5yrs Ive worn 50% of the finish off it its bare wood were my arm lays and blotchy on the back and neck is 3/4 worn away.

Ok so I did a buncha tweaking figuring heights.
At first the 59 was a bit to pick attacky kinda bright. I adjusted it then tweaked the poles.
I have this same set in my little Charvel too.
Both guitars( SG and Charvel) I adjusted poles on the 59 neck but left the WLH bridge poles untouched.
Anyway the 59 in this SG is Damn Awesome!! 59 sounds better in the SG than the Charvel which is closer to the bridge on that guitar.
Now the WLH( in tge SG) sounds really good meatier than the 490T I took out and more fat mid attack to it and less gritty and whispy.(490T is still not a bad pickup tho)However the WLH I have in the Charvel seems to sound a bit better. But the SG has that angle to the strings....so maybe I should slightly tweak the poles( I had to on the 490T). Either way its a nice pup in there, but I think irs got more to give yet.

Got to use it tonight at rehearsal at stage volume.
Yea it sounds real good. Blooms into feedback on sustained chords with boost on even at our lowish stage volume.
Crisp cuts through nicely. Dynamic pedals off does nice clean to edge of breakup. Add the EQ more break up add the spark boost sustains nicely with clarity.
Neck pickup has a nice round paf type tone with clarity.
And the middle position with bridge up and neck rolled back to 7ish gives that nice mid position thang.
Happy happy.
