Surprised...JBJr. neck has lovely jazz cleans!

Ive just discovered in the past few days how nice the JBJr. in the neck of my jackson can sound through the right amp. Ive been learning some jazz stuff and on my mesa .50 caliber + through its clean channel, with the eq set right, it is one of the nicest jazzy cleans ive ever heard! Thick and warm, Wes style, it was a nice surprise!

I cant wait to hear what my soon to come es-137 custom sounds like through that amp if the jackson sounds great already :32:

I used to use a neck model JB JR as a bridge pickup with a pair of Duncan SSL-1's. I prefer it to the bridge model: it's brighter and more open sounding...not so dark. Never used it as a neck pickup tho! I'll bet it WOULD be nice... Lew

what do you think would sound better in the bridge of a strat, a jb jr or a jb humbucker?

Full size JB...IMO. Much more output and a fuller, more inspiring tone. But the JB Jr. is very cool sounding too and you won't have to rout your Strat for a full size humbucker. I actually used the JB Jr for a while as the bridge pickup in my '63 Strat...a guitar I'd NEVER dream of routing for a full size humbucker.

Id go with the full size JB too, but if you dont want to route then a JBJr. But the full size one would sound much bigger and thicker being full sized.

Theres no substitute for a real full sized bucker

The JBJr neck sounds great distorted. Not as thick as a full size bucker but its got that dark thick bucker thing going on which is pretty cool.

Ill try to do a clip of it soon and post it.

But there is no full size which is like the JB Jr neck!?? When i go after the tone chart it would be the perfect neck PU for me.

I dont think there is an exact one no.

I want a JB neck model . But maybe i have to give the jazz a chance first...
