Swapping a SSL-6 for a STK-S6? Wiring question.

Thought a little about this, and to keep the stick wirin, seems going the Stack path is not a possibility.

Would using a dummy coil just for the stock RWRP SSL-6 neck position be a viable option?

Maybe, I remember there are a couple of products that you can either mount at the backplate or even inside the control cavity. There is something ILICH Electronics, but you definitely need to call them, they will ask you some specs or measurements from your pickups. I know cause once I called to potentially get one for MIM Ceramic pickups which sound great imho, but I never got to buy the coil from them.

If you just put the STK-S6 in the neck a couple of positions in the pickup selector switch will become noiseless, I get it, but is that really a bad thing? Do you use that much gain in the notch positions? I don't, just clean or mild overdrive that I can control with a noise gate then when when I crank the volume knob I always switch into neck or bridge which is already noise cancelling.

Thanks for your input IMENATOR.

As a matter of fact I think I will forget my initial idea and just stay with the stock wiring / pickups. The stock wiring is really versatile, and the guitar be used for cleans / light gain, and used the other in my stable for gainer tones.

Sounds fine. To be honest with you I think noise gate pedals have become so good that they are great as long as you do channel switching or use a distortion pedal, I am talking about the ones with a loop like ISP G-String Decimator ii. But for those using volume control to change from clean to dirty the noiseless pickup is a better option.

Since I've gone ths Helix path, yes, I will be putting its noise gates to better use.

Thanks again for your input.
