Swapping JB7 for Omega 7

Hello there, I´m thinking of swapping of the stock bridge pickup of my seven string whose JB 7 doesn´t gel with me at all. I need a pickup clear and tight the low end but yet huge and deep sounding without these annoying harsh mid highs. Is the Omega a good choice? What do you think?

Also, does it need some routing on the pickup cavity? I assume every duncan passive mount has the same measures. Am I right?

Cheers!

Just change the magnet with an Alnico 8 and you'll get what yours asking and the some.

The Omega and JB for 7-string both have the same dimensions, so you shouldn't have any issues dropping it in, and it is definitely clear and tight. In my experience the upper mid-range is not quite as pronounced as on the JB.

The Omega definitely sounds like what you're looking for! I had a Nazgul 7 in my guitar before I swapped it for an Omega 7, and while I liked it a lot, it was definitely a bit harsh in the upper mids. The Omega still has enough of them that it cuts well, but it's definitely not harsh sounding.
