Swapping magnets: how to make sure they're inserted the right way?

I just got my magnets from Brent (thanks dude!) and I am ready to make the C5 a Custom again (yeaaah I know I didn't try it, but I loved the Custom too damn much hehe...), however the mags are unmarked and I'm not sure how I would go on inserting them correctly without having to install the pup, try it and figure it out from them. Any tips..? I only have a multimeter at my disposition but metal things aren't a problem to find.

Thanks John, I saw this ages ago but it doesn't help me with how to do it bro ;)

Take your old magnet out of the pickup. Do not flip it. Then get your new magnet out and slide it next to your old magnet sideways (long side). It should pull the old one. The poles of magnet bars are on the long sides. If they pull eachother that means the sides getting close are different poles. Thus, the alignment would be right.

PS. You also can do this without taking the magnet bar out of the HB. That's good for understanding whether or not two HBs are gonna be out of phase.

Gah yeah I forgot... I have NO idea whether the old one was properly inserted or not. So I used the DiMarzio AirZone I have as a template. It should work *crosses fingers*

Now for the burning question......how do you reverse the bridge magnet for the Peter Green effect? And Pierre.....as for your quote......assuming that it's true, that only works if you were a "C" student at Yale and Harvard Business School. Being a mid-packer at the local high school ain't gonna get ya into the White House unless you made a ton of money raising chickens and donated a bunch to the Clinton campaign....and that would only get ya there for an overnight stay :laugh2:

Eh come on, I'm not discussing the quote itself, but you gotta admit it just sounds funny on its own ;) And the operation was a success from the first try! Seymour Duncan SH5 + Super Custom. The Ceramic mag I used on it was way bigger than the original one.
