Sweeeet...

Re: Sweeeet...

my ibanez has a similar grain but is stained darker. That is a bad ass Ibanez.

Re: Sweeeet...

This is eerie, I started considering another possible custom build job recently. A mahogany Satch body, string-thru hardtail, clear gloss finish, with a mahogany/ebony (or rosewood) neck, black hardware, H-H or H-S routing, etc, etc....

Now I know what it might look like :).

Re: Sweeeet...

There have actually been a few hardtail versions I think. Very slick guitars, I love the aerofoil body shape and the fact that there are absolutely NO sharp edges.

Re: Sweeeet...

No biggie really, no Ibanez trem here either ;).

Re: Sweeeet...

That's pretty sweet. I'm incredibly happy with my JS 1000BP, and I've been considering another guitar from the JS line. I was thinking either a used JS 2000 or maybe a JS 100 with new pups. I'll look into this one.

Be careful, the JS100 has the horrible Lo-TRS II bridge, and doesn't share the same body shape as the nicer JS instruments. It also has a Wizard II neck if I remember correctly. Overall it's a totally different instrument.

Re: Sweeeet...

The JS6000 was made in a REALLY limited run (Evan Skopp has one with a rare finish, too) when Satch was really getting into using whammy-less fixed bridges in the studio for better tone. I've always liked the way they look but I've NEVER seen one like that!

And about the JS100... just save up and get the better one. Those Lo-TRSII bridges SUCK! I had an Ibanez Jem 555 with one and it would NEVER stay in tune more than a few minutes. Edges and OFRs, by contrast, stay in tune under a LOT of abuse.

Re: Sweeeet...

As I said, I'd been tossing around the idea of building a guitar almost exactly like that. I didn't know Ibanez ever made a run of axes like that, but seeing that made my idea sound much better :).
