Really wanted to use the Agile for this, but it just didn't jive. I couldn't use the agile, while the heritage was staring at me the whole time... so i gave in lol. sorry guys hahahaa.

The pickups are SD Antiquity humbuckers. Going into the plexi through a boss GT-8 as usual.

thanks for listening guys!

Re: Sweet chile o' mine baby!

Great job Bro- great tone-

My fave part of that song is all the color-the single note lines and arpeggiated clean chordy stuff (I just love Marshalls for that sound) and you did an awesome job with it- most people I see on you tube just kind of ddidle around a few open chords

:bigthumb:

Re: Sweet chile o' mine baby!

way too cool man. awesome job. i think you only play that song about, hmm...193x better than me? lol

really cool

Re: Sweet chile o' mine baby!

Really excellent playing, Alex! As Jeff said, the different tonal colors add a lot of dimension. It's also nice that you didn't kill it with tons of distortion.

Give us a rundown of the gear used.

Re: Sweet chile o' mine baby!

Hi Guys,

Thanks a lot for listening and for the comments!

For the clean part - i just kinda made it up. It's not what Slash plays. Also I should've been using the neck pickup for the entire first part of the song - up until the wah part of the solo - for all the leads and rhythm. I used mid position.

The effect chain is - Heritage 150 with Antiquity humbuckers into Boss GT-8 (using the distortion from GT-8 I think, not the DS-1), then into marshall Plexi halfstack with an attenuator on bedroom setting. Using SM58 shure mic to mic it. Going into cakewalk sonar 3 and adding vintage compressor, multiband EQ and delay.

I'll find something to record with my agile. I want to get that growly les paul tone too. This heritage guitar has got it's own unique tone, but its not the same as a typical les paul tone.

Thanks guys,
Alex

Re: Sweet chile o' mine baby!

Ahh thats probably the song ive played more in my short life...

Ill give you my honest critics

The tone in the intro riff sounds a little thin or something
Then when the chorus enters seems that you are playing something a little bit different than the original
And also i think there's too much echo

Besides that...great cover man, i like the feeling you put into the song

I would like your opinion on my cover of SCOM too! ill pm you the link

Re: Sweet chile o' mine baby!

WOw! Seldom that I have the patience to watch YouTube guitar videos...

But that was really great man, tone maybe a lil thin toch echoed in places. But playing was just awsome! :D

Re: Sweet chile o' mine baby!

I always dig the way you put your own feel on these tunes, man. Great work!
