Sweet n warm like this tone: tone of a flute...

Do you know which PU can deliver this tone while it can still make powerful sound? I like it very much, especially, if it's smoother! I think, this tone was sounded from a flute, but i think we can do it with a guitar. at least, we can make a similar sound... ( i like symphony very much) ^_^ (if i could do that, it's amazing, but i think, u can! ^_^ :laugh2: ).
a friend suggested to me: an Invader with a very sweet, smooth n powerful sound. ~_~, he said:" i think that PU is good for Symphonic Metal - the grene which u're playing, and some other heavy riffs /soloes; and if you like sweetness of a flute, u can still make a similar sound! Because i think, Invader is very Smooth, Sweet Pick up and powerful. If you don't expect a very clear sound, it's your best choice!"
And, this link is that sound:

or

It's a part of track "silver maiden" in album: Days Of Rising Doom.

What do u think about this topic? May u give me some opinions? I think this topic is quite interested! ^_^ :laugh2:

I personally don't know of any pickup that will sound like that. I think you maybe better off getting a roland guitar synth. I have one and can get those types of sounds out of it. Click on the link to my band below

The Jam in A minor should give an idea and Dancin on a cloud also. Prelude and Autumn also have a little guitar synth on them also.

I think you can make a simimlar sound with recording tips, like inversed reverb using a smooth neck pickup and things like that. But for live? I don't know...Walt is right about the Roland.

yup! thank guys! I'm using Line6 PODxt for playing live and recording. I was made a sound which is similar with NightWish Solo tone (in track Nemo) a few minutes ago , i think my sound is somewhat smoother and warmer. (but i 'm not sure my sound is as nice as lead sound of NightWish). I used amp Line6 Treadplate (MesaBoogie Dual Rectifiers) with Electro harmonix Memory Man as a delay unit, TubeScreamer stormbox, Vintage Plate Reverb to create some space...
My neck Pu isn't smooth enough so i used my bridge pickup as Sh4 JB. yeah! The sound is great (at least with me! ^_^ ).

To Walt:yup! thanks, your stuff're great! I like Autumn track! ^_^

Thanks, the piano and strings at the end of Autumn were done on a Roland GR-30. It was a lot of fun to use. Thanks again.

UHm! is it a JB for bridge position? you put it to neck position? ^_^
Oh, it's a amazing test if that test has incredible result as what u said! ^_^ :fingersx:

Re: Sweet n warm like this tone: tone of a flute...

i did not listen to the clip , but i when i was a young player (and didnt know any better) I put a bridge PAF style humbucker in the neck of a LP style guitar I had and that neck position sounded amazingly smooth and flute like.
It reminded me to some very cool solos Frank Marino played back in the day. I still crave that sound. So yes a hot bridge pup is capable of giving some pretty cool sounds. I might add that it was useless for chords or rhtyhm playing ,but for single note playing it was unique and pretty darn soulful.

Try an Ebow---flute, cello, violin, and Martian instruments as well...
