Switch for series/parallel 2 humbuckers

Hi guys,

Been having trouble finding a wiring diagram for this:
2 humbuckers (4 conductor)
One volume
One 3 way pickup selector switch
One switch for putting the humbuckers in parallel mode.
No tone control

Instead of coil splitting I'd like to be able to run the humbuckers in regular and parallel to maintain their hum cancelling. I'd like to use a single switch to toggle between both humbuckers in regular humbucker mode or in parallel mode for single coil like sounds.

If someone could help me with a wiring diagram using Seymour Duncan color scheme and let me know what type of switch I need.

If this is not possible then a diagram for the same configuration but with the switch activating coil split for both pickups.

Thanks!!!

Re: Switch for series/parallel 2 humbuckers

Thanks guys! Looks like I'll check into the 4pdt switch first. Would be great to run both humbucker modes off of a single switch. Do you know if I just need to double up the dpdt diagram when adding the second pickup to the 4pdt? Or would the second side need to be mirror image?

Thanks!

Re: Switch for series/parallel 2 humbuckers

Triple Shot rings makes the series/parallel (and split) thing more elegant. They work really well.

I have that setup plus a tone control in my ESP, and I use a Fender S1 pot/switch to gang-switch series/parallel mode.

As said before, a 4PDT switch is just two DPDT switches mounted side-by-side, with one handle. Wire up each "half" as if it was one switch.

Yeah, that's the diagram. Just imagine two of these exactly the same side by side (NOT a mirror image), one half (like Artie has pictured) for one pup the other half for the other pup...that would be a 4pdt switch.

Thank you! Still waiting for the 4PDT in the mail. I'll let you know how it goes!!!! I appreciate your time!!

Note also, the two grounds can be jumpered together, then with a lead to any ground. The two "Out's" would go to their terminals on the 3-way.

Good Morning! I've received my 4PDT mini yesterday. I'll be wiring it up later today . I'll let you all know how it went. !! Thank you guys for your time and help!!!

Which pups are you using? I did the same operation for the neck on one of my guitars a couple of months back and soldering wires to ground on the switch was one of the most frustrating exercises in electronics fuckery I've ever had to do.

Your going to need a super switch or 2 toggle switches to do that.

or a 4pdt switch which he used. i have a strat with hot rails neck and bridge and use a 4pdt on/on/on switch to get series/split/parallel for two pups on one switch. works great!

True. I used an on/on variant to reproduce the Charvel DK-24 circuit in my Ibanez
