I've always had a love affair with teles. Being tight with money, I came across the SX furrian line. They seem like amazing, quality instruments, but for the amazing price, it surely can't be true. My question is, after swapping hardware (pups, tuners, nut, pots, ect...) will it be an amazing axe?

Re: SX Furrian?

I have an SX strat. The body and the neck are very good. The hardware is okay but definatley something you'd wanna replace. You'd be able to make yourself a good rocker out of the SX stuff.

so if i were to build off of the body and neck, i would end up with a stage/ studio worthy guitar?

Re: SX Furrian?

A friend picked up one at a local pawn shop for $50, with the P90 neck pup. He brought it by for mr to check it out, I couldn't play it (he's a lefty).
I adjusted the intonation for him, & plugged it in. I have to say, I really like the way that P90 drove the front end of the amp.
Overall, he got a real good deal with money for upgrades left over.
The neck felt pretty comfy, & the body was in great shape, everything worked well together, though I didn't care for the bridge pup, kinda thin & weak, but for the $ you can't go wrong for a starter, or base to build.
I say go for it.

Yes. Absolutely. I have a SX Furrian that I love. The neck carve is nice and chunky. The body is routed for a neck humbucker so I have a mini at the neck with a Lil' 59 in the bridge. Expect that you will need a good setup and fret level when you get it. I replaced the tuners and the bridge saddles. But with minimal work, I ended up with a great HH Tele.
