Synths

I'm looking into getting a synth. I have a budget of about $400. I was looking at those Realistics, as well as the microKorg, but I just don't know. If anyone has any input on what I should get, it would be greatly appretiated.

what kind of sounds are you looking for, synthy or analogish (electric pianos, organs, piano, stuff like that)

Synthy. Wierd noises that you really couldn't get with any other instrument. I'm not looking for piano, organ, trumpet, etc. impersonating keyboards.

yeah the alesis micron/ion or the microkorg. I have the microkorg and use it for bunches of weird noises, it's super-editable.

I tried out that new Roland GR-20 a while back... improved tracking, cool sounds and a more convenient pickup design.

just buy reason 3.0 and you'll have a great synth on your computer for 300 or so.
