So I installed a new chrome gotoh bridge and aluminum tailpiece on my epiphone SG and LOVE the difference. Way clearer, brighter and more airy and vibrant. So next up is my epi Les Paul which is all black with black hardware. I just ordered a Gotoh cosmo black finish bridge for it but they seemingly don't make a black aluminum tailpiece, just a regular one and even those are hard to find. Should I just get the regular cosmo black tailpiece for $35 (which should be an improvement over the epi one) or spring for the Tonepros aluminum one which is upwards of $100, enough of a difference in a Les Paul to warrant it?? Its already (unplugged) a good and balanced sounding guitar, possibly on the darker side (black hardware after all haha) but not much
Also, the new bushing didn't fit (too narrow) but the new studs did fit into the old bushings so I left them in. Is there REALLY gonna be any tonal difference between bushings?? enough to warrant filling the holes and re drilling which is a big endeavour, thanks guys!
