Hi guys! Did our second gig playing out as a duo last week and I'm not happy with the sound I'm getting from my Martin and Taylor guitars. I have Sunrise soundhole pickups in them and the tone is fine but not quite as acoustic as I would like.

So I'm thinking about picking up a couple of Takamine EF341FC guitars...the model Bruce Springsteen uses. http://www.takamine.com/?fa=artist&id=321

But over the years, thier have been several versions. From what I understand, Bruce uses the original version of the Takamine EF341FC which has mahogany sides and back and spruce top.

The newer version uses cedar top and maple back and sides.

And the pre amp design has changed over the years.

So: who here and steer me into the right model of Takamine and the right preamp design?

Which of the various Takamine preamps sounds best?

Thanks! Lew

The oldest one is by far he best!!
Strangely enough!
;)

Hope you're right...because I just bought one from '93 solely on your recommendation! :fingersx:

I was gonna say a Mama Bear Preamp to go with your Martin or Taylor.

Good call...the Mama Bear is awesome for making a Strat or an old Ovation sound like a Martin D-28!

I'd kinda like to leave my Martin purely acoustic and take the Sunrise pickup out of it. I regret putting it in, in the first place. It's a 000-28HD...wonderful acoustic guitar.

The Mama Bear was the most impressive piece of gear I played through at NAMM though.
