Take my money! NOW!!!!!

Re: Take my money! NOW!!!!!

Unless there's something different in the pickup, wiring or bridge; or if it proves not-so-popular and becomes really 'affordable', not sure I would pursue it. But it's cool if you are an EVH-head and a completist about having all the guitars.

Re: Take my money! NOW!!!!!

i would buy one and put together a Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute band just to confuse people.

LOL!!

Widening this thread alittle, the article makes it sound like they are using a variety of EVH pickups now.. Am I misinterpreting? I know in the beginning, they all came with The EVH pup which was supposed to be really cool

Re: Take my money! NOW!!!!!

Yeah, it sounds like they changed the neck pickup on the Wolfgang to A3.

Re: Take my money! NOW!!!!!

Did anyone else notice th pickup rout on the 5150? It looks like the pickup has normal legs now, so you could drop in an old school JBJ. Man that would be fun!

Re: Take my money! NOW!!!!!

I like it, although the iconic red, white and black striped scheme is so closely identified with Eddie, I'd feel like I was walking in his shadow on stage, and that's a BIG shadow. Would be like playing Vai's multi-swirl Universe in a club gig. People would expect quite a bit from you! You'd be a complete tool if you walked on stage with one of those and did Nickelback (or as I call them, Brokeback) covers. But then again, you'd always be a tool doing Nickelback covers. :guilty:

I really like the old school EVH black and yellow Strat head guitar like he had during VHII. And most people probably wouldn't recognize that one....or would they think I was doing a Stryper tribute??!!

Re: Take my money! NOW!!!!!

I also can't figure why it's a few hundred more than a standard striped series

They probably have to pay licensing royalty to Gibson, who owns the Kramer name, for use of the banana headstock. I would think that this model requires more labor than the others because the headstock is decorated as well. Plus MSRP and MAP are bullsh*t numbers anyways - a high price plants the illusion of quality.
