He is a bit of an amp cork sniffer. I wonder if he kept it or rotated it out like most of his amps.

We had an OD2r.
Comments I got from guys that played it.? ..... Best combination of Clean and Dirty in most any amp they ever played.
Alan knows how to build an excellent amp. Very sharp guy. Has some pretty impressive eduction behind him.
Hand-wired amps are expensive to build.
If you are legitimate...have shop space and employees....2k for an amp is probably about minimum. Throw in loops...power scaling...regulated DC for switching...external bias ports ... and a host of other things that players think are important.....and then throw in a warranty of many years... it is amazing more amps are not 3k and up.
He is one of the few guys that never really got into mods, pedals, and repairs as he got "successful".
Seems like most of the guys of his caliber were making a better living in another field, but the music drew them into amp building.
Bob Reinhardt threw in the towel to build Race Motors. His amps are very sought after.
Lots of talented guys had to give up. It is a tough way to make a living.
