WOW!!! I have the Green Manalishi screen on over here CCC and the dark background really brings that guitar out. The Blue/white of the HFC board kinda overpowers it on my monitor and makes your shots look darker. That thing is GREAT looking.

Re: Talladega pics

New model shown in January and just now starting to hit the shops after orders were made.

Re: Talladega pics

Great looking guitar. I needs ta know! WHO MAKES THOSE PICKUPS?

O/T:I actually strummed a Hamer Standard with a serial number under #290, in the late Seventies Yes, I sucked, but it was a godly moment in my life.

I really hope they will bring those Double D's into normal production, I have at least one other Hamer I want to try them in.

And those 4 digit Hamers are heavenly, I have #0115. The only thing is : these are becoming so expensive that
I seldom play it in fear of damaging it. It's becoming a ritual : Getting the guitar out of the case, looking at it for half an hour, playing it for half an hour. And then cleaning it for 15 minutes.....

Re: Talladega pics

It's a really nice piece of craft. A shame for the headstock though. I think they should really do something about it.

Hee-Hee, the only reason I ever got to strum that Hamer Standard (it was in a glass faced display case), was that the salesman knew my sister from High School, and I had the feeling he wanted to get a date with my older sister! :boggled:

Anyhow, it really is great to see Hamer punching out new ground. There are so many reasons why great people/companies fail...and it truly feels great to see a group of player-builders, and enthusiasts succeed and blossom against the odds!

Re: Talladega pics

not too huge on Hamers. Get rid of the speed knowbs and put on less ugfly knobs and then we'll have a sexy looking guitar!! Headstock is kind of ugly too. Those pickups intrigue me though!!! Overall, good score!

I agree about the knobs. Put some chrome dome knobs on there. Of course the knobs wouldn't make any difference to me, I f'in love that guitar, and wanna hear those pups bad.

Re: Talladega pics

Those lap-steel knobs are totally cool, but if you want to change em that's easy enough isn't it? I wouldn't pass up a Corvette because it had tires I didn't like!

I don't get the headstock problem though. To me things like Dean and PRS look all wrong. I guess I'm a traditionalist with vintage values.

Re: Talladega pics

A friend informed to buy one : None available for the rest of the year to Europe....
Seems Hamer under-estimated the potential of this model.

Re: Talladega pics

I heard it had a raving review in Guitar Player and got a Editor's pick award. We can't get Guitar player over here, so if someone could mail me a scan.....
