Re: Tasty Licks From One Of THe Most Recorded Guitar Players Of All Time
geeze - makes you wonder why everyone isn't dropping his name all over the place; crazy clean fast & fluid playing.
I'm going to work on some of this licks. that angel don't cry one at 16:10 is pretty amazing. there was something in the very beginning that I dug that might have been a blues run, had a lot of half step stuff.
makes me want to get some toto - I didn't know what they were all about but if he's on it, count me in.
Haven't watched the whole thing, but I hope he goes into what scales he's using, what chords he's playing over, why he chose the scales he did, etc. I may not be able to play like him, but I'd like to understand how a player like that approaches putting a solo over a part from a theory standpoint - what works, what doesn't.
Haven't looked yet - I hope there are more of these types of sessions available online. I dig the format.
