Not really. A Grand Auditorium is a smaller body than a dread.

It might not be the size that makes it work well. The construction might help to balance the EQ properly so you can hear all of the voices well.

Can't say I've ever seen a fingerstyle guitar player using a Taylor Grand Auditorium. Not sure what source is saying they are good for that.

If you hang our at the acoustic guitar forum, you’ll read about it. I have a 2004 Taylor 214, and I’m not the greatest finger style player, but I do get it why many like it for finger style. It doesn’t need a strong attack, and the fullness is there with good note separation. I also have a 70’s Japanese lawsuit OM and a 60’s Yamaha classical and those do the finger style thing better. But the Taylor does it well enough, and it’s also good for flat picking and strumming a great all-around guitar. And that neck is just lovely.
