Taylor T5Z Pro - Thoughts?

Anyone have a Taylor T5Z Pro?

I remember when these came out and I didn't care for the tone at all. Fastforward to present day and I am very impressed with the T5Z Pro I played at a local GC. The two GCs near me don't have any other Taylor Thinlines to compare to the one I played.

Anyone own a T-series and have compared it to the T5Z Pro? Would like to try a couple before pulling the trigger on one.

I bought a used one from GC a few months ago that arrived busted
I was so disappointed opted to go a different route
bought a Les Paul instead

I still have gas for one

I have been looking at the LTD version of something very similar

That stinks, sorry about that!

See, I was initially looking in the direction of a Hollowbody like this Eastman Er1. One of the salesman there who knows my playing told me I should try this T5Z. I was blown away by the tones–really nails the acoustic tones and electric tones...better than any "piezo" equipped guitar I've tried.

I'm in the middle of a move right now so I can't do anything right now. Otherwise I would have walked out with the T5Z there. It was just more versatile than the other hollowbodies that I've tried. Was curious to try the regular T5 vs the Z/pro.

I've seen those LTDs before, never played one though.

Re: Taylor T5Z Pro - Thoughts?

I haven't either
But I too liked the idea of the T5
The one I got was a used T5C1
The acoustic sized version
With the 14 inch radius neck

The T5z
Has a 12 inch radius neck
And closer.to a Les Paul sized body

The blend of the neck single.and the piezo in the first position makes a difference in the tone

Puts that bass back in

I will have one eventually

Well, I thought the size and neck were both very comfortable to play.

Really, all of the tones were outstanding.

I have played the new Adamas Viper, which is a really cool guitar. I hadn't tested it with the Taylor, though.
