TB-4 JB + SH-2N Wiring idea

Re: TB-4 JB + SH-2N Wiring idea

Belcik,
Really look forward to seeing what you come up with. It's quite a challenge coming up with something that will work in that small space. Keep us posted.

hi you all. Operation finished. I had no time to have a real test on the sound, what I did was to be vary careful during soldering. Then I took my breath and plugged in a Tuner. It was working. Then my wife tested via headphones - it works. I will have some sound investigation today/tomorrow. Some photos and detailed review later this week.

We have a small issue though.
Instead of mini on/on, I had to buy mini on/off/on. I did the soldering as on scheme, I was consulting online with KnifeR, but I was totally offline later so I could not check his advice (cut the red connection).

Now, how to easily work this out? LAter I will do the map of the all connections and the sound/no sound marking to understand if something went wrong :)

As of now - something is working :)

Re: TB-4 JB + SH-2N Wiring idea

As of now I have noticed one annoying thing, humming noise that changes when touched strings or jack. Additionally in some positions helps touching part of the humbuckers shelding (that is not grounded - but this will be elaborated later). So I have a grounding problem, I need to google the answer - how to pin down the Root Cause :)

EDIT:
Well, the RC is the Ground loop most probably. I have altered a little bit initial Schematics to have more comfortable operatarion inside of the guitar. I must have missed some of the Rule of Thumb with grounding and shielding...

Bought incorrect miniswitch, changed the wiring to that, then decided to find the correct one and come back to original wiring, after that, burned Volume Push Pull, bought a new one, then fried Tone Push Pull, after which googled a little bit to understand how sucker I was.

Now I need to see if the save Tone will work, if not - I will do one final approach, - If fail, I will go and buy a new guitar (strat Am Stan or JS100/JS1000) to improve my mood...

Said me...

I can fix this guitar for you, when you're done with it.

This assumes, that when I am done with it, guitar will require fixes :)

But anyway - I like professionals, so if You are in Moscow - why not?

Well, to be fully honest with you - since you have been trying to make it work for months already, I thought I could give you a helping hand in ending the struggle. I am also quite curious of your guitar and thought it would be cool to be able to take a closer look and find out more. I'm right in the middle of Poland.

Hello, I do appreciate that and I would really use Your help, but I am currently in Moscow, in Poland rarely.
And BTW - these aren not months yet :) I bought parts around 14.06, and already had 3 approaches: shielding+ soldering 1; solving problems and soldering 2; solving problems and soldering 3.

So it is not so terrible :)
