Tb-6 Nickel Cover Vs No Cover In Les Paul Classic?

I like the tb-6 or sh-6 distortion but feel its a little too high mid spikey and a little too hot. I was wondering if having a cover on my tb-6 would tone it down a bit? I also like th c5 I have but it needs more mids and is a little lacking in the gain department. A compromise between the 2 would be good. Kinda around where the gain is on a patb1. Any suggestions?

On the distortion a .001 treble bleed cap might do the trick. That should take a tad bit of the highs off of it.

I have a stock .022 ceramic on it now and have a .047 on the neck thats burgundy and shiny ,aftermarket type. Would a .001 be better than either of these? My friend has a late 60s goldtop with what I think are sprague bumblebee caps in it. Would something like that be good or bad? I have also heard of orangedrop? sprague. Any advice on this or what brand rules?

Anyone know about bumblebee caps? Are they made by sprague? What company makes the good .001 caps?

A treble bleed cap dosent get installed on the tone control. If I remember right, it goes between the lug on the volume pot your positive wire is soldered to and ground. It bleeds of just a tiny bit of the highs to ground.
What kind of guitar is it going into? How many volumes and tones, what kind of switch is it?
