TC Electronic Pedals vs Rack Effects

For those of you who have experience with them, how are the TC Electronic effects? Particularly their Toneprint pedals and G-Force and G-Major (1+2) rack equipment.

Also, what are so alternatives to the above effects? Looking for the standard 'verb, delay, and modulation effects. Nothing to special, just good sounding. I don't think I've even seen any other rack effects similar to the TC stuff.

Anyway, thanks for the input.

Re: TC Electronic Pedals vs Rack Effects

As far as the rack stuff in concerned I cannot help you.

However I do own a Tc Flashback x4 delay, Hall of fame reverb, Corona Chorus and Vortex Flanger. I have to say I love them, whether you are into tweaking your sounds to perfection or are the plug and play type of guy (which I do not suspect since you are asking for rack effects ;)), they are great. I really love the toneprint editor, you can just spend hours tweaking the effects to be just as you like them, I am really impressed. Lots and lots of parameters to play with, yet even just plugging it in and hitting a chord will give instant satisfaction. If you love versatility and can bear the thought of not owning analog effects these are among the top contenders I think. They are analog dry through, also with the effects engaged, switchable true or buffered bypass, switchable killdry for parrallel effects loop usage. I think they really sound nice and tc have spend their time not to just get a couple of the presents right, but in my opinion they make believable analog, tape etc. delays. Same goes for the other effects, you get the best of both worlds with the availabilty of real pristine sounding very clean, digitally sounding effects, but also the old school analog modeled stuff sounds really great.

Well as you can see I like them a lot, my only complaint is not being able to spend some more time with them and the tone editor ;).

That sounds great. The fact that they are good for "plug and play" type stuff, as well as being crazy tweak-able sounds perfect. And as far as digital or analog I couldn't care less, as long as it sounds good.

I have a corona chorus, flashback delay and hall of fame reverb. They're the first pedals of the those types that were transparent enough to let your original tone through, I like them

Re: TC Electronic Pedals vs Rack Effects

I have a G-Major 1 that I sometimes use for Reverb and a bit of modulation and Delay with my Splawn or SLO clone and the effects on it sound really good in my opinion.

I'm not a huge user of effects but I can get what I want out of the G-Major without much fuss.

I'm sure there are other better units available, but I got this pretty cheap and it does exactly what I want when I need it to so I have no complaints.
