Hey you guys using TCE TonePrint pedals,

Please describe which pedal you have and how you like it as a stand-alone effect...

Then please describe your experiences using the TonePrint... How's it sound??IS it gimmicky or really useable tones? Is it still tweakable? Is it a PITA?

Thanks!

Re: TCE TonePrint pedals?

The sounds are cool but the way TC markets it is stupid.

Like, they have the Flashback delay, Transition Delay, and Alter Ego Delay. There are certain toneprints available for each one but you can;t just buy any delay print you like. I think it is a gimmick to get people to buy more pedals.

They sound great though, the toneprints, but they are using them to get as much money as they can. And this is coming from someone who loves the new line of pedals from them.

Re: TCE TonePrint pedals?

I didn't know you had to buy the toneprint effects.

How much do they run?

Can you try before you buy, or is it just based on sound samples?

I meant that they want people to buy the other pedals to get access to the other toneprints.

I only noticed this with delays but I think they have another chorus out now.

Re: TCE TonePrint pedals?

I just bought their Hall of Fame reverb yesterday. I haven't tried using the Toneprints yet since the controls are easy enough to figure out.

As a reverb unit, it's the best reverb I've ever heard- compared to on board reverbs, spring reverb and other reverb pedals, it has the most natural, transparent reverb tones I've ever played- it's not overpowering like every other one I've played, you put on the hall reverb, it really sounds like you're in a hall, etc....

Re: TCE TonePrint pedals?

I have the Flashback delay. I've tried a bunch of toneprints out. My favorite delay is the Pro Guitar Shop Echoplex toneprint, very cool. And the toneprint for the Tri-chorus turns the delay pedal into a nice sounding chorus pedal. The toneprints are all free downloads.

Re: TCE TonePrint pedals?

I'm using the Corona Chorus. The tone print thing is kind of a novelty to me, but the sound of the unit is top notch. I have used the tone print option a couple of times, but I like the trichorus setting so much it pretty much stays there. To give an idea of the quality of the tone, it replaced a Fulltone Choralflange on my board about 6 months ago and no regrets on that.
