Teal Green Strat. What do you think

HI, my name is Lou and I got gas got GAS.

I have been scoping out the market on strat bodies. I keep running across teal green. I don't know if I like it or not. What do yall think.

I have been noticing a natural ash, :32: Trans white Ash, and Trans Blues ash. I also love the blue in Curleys Avatar


You know that semi dizzy, dissorianted GAS feeling I got it BAD!!!!! :smack:

I go downtown Toronto every Thursday night to see a local guitar virtuoso play - Tony Springer, he plays several teal strats with maple and rosewood necks. He is the most stunning player I know - on the same level as Steve Vai (very similar wacky style). Moral of the story is i really wouldn't care if he played a puke green strat, or a pink paisley one - HE FREAKEN TEARS IT UP !!!

I think it's great to mix up guitar colors out of the ordinary. Go for it, it's totally unique.

I used to have a tele plus in that trans-teal color...great guitar, wish I didn't sell it...but I did make a profit. :laugh2:

Hey i meant no offence

I really like teal strats. They sorta remind me of surf for some reason (maybe because of the color of the wave). I'll definitely get one later on - one beaten to hell. Probably would get one in Alder - I like hard ash more for Teles. Now put some surfer pickups in a teal strat and you got yerself a surfer

I almost bought a teal-green Les Paul not too long ago. I think it's a great color, Lou, and one I don't see too often.
I'd go for it.

I love the American Deluxe Strats in Teal Green Transparent. I've been on the lookout for one, but I've been unable to find any shops which have them in stock.

I've uncovered a few nice photos, however. If anybody sees one available for sale, let me know.

That's a nice pic bluesbird! My brother has the American Deluxe Jazz Bass, and I can honestly say that the trans teal finish looks even nicer in person. Heck, teal is the new blue...j/k.

By popular demand my Teal Green US Highway 1 strat - which is a little lighter in colour then these pictures, but the neck is brilliant and the body resonates, pups are okay but as has been mentioned before the bridge pup is weak, and will need replacing.

Of course you can always go for the candy green EC strat - which might be another option??

Nice guitar Norman. For some reason, the Teal Green Transparent looks more 'green' on the Highway 1 guitars, but leans a bit more towards 'blue' on the Deluxe strats I've seen.

Thanks for the compliment - yes I have noticed that as well with the Deluxe strats, maybe the paint or the wood? My picture was taken indoors so had flash and it has made the colour a lot darker than it really is.

I think that Teal Green is difficult to capture on a picture properly as many times they do come out darker than in real life, I have seen this in quite a number of guitars - Fenders and PRS. When the weather is better in the UK I am going to take some of guitars out into my garden and take some proper pictures as some others have done.

doesnt look so bad, im not a fan of green guitars but i've seen two nice ones today, this one and Dudu's ibanez.

I agree, the ash probably plays a small part, but it's probably mainly due to the photography. Natural light makes a huge difference in getting an accurate depiction of the colour. I've had the same trouble with my guitar, which is transparent red, notoriously difficult for photographing.
