Tele Bridge Noiseless questions

I have one of the new MIM Telecasters, all single coils, heavy 6 saddle bridge plate, 250k pots etc, and am considering swapping the bridge pickup for a single coil sized humbucker to play heavier music without the hum. Acoustically this guitar is pretty balanced in the mids and treble, not a lot of low end, plenty of spank and bite, very similar to how my 2001 MIA Strat sounded. What I'm wondering is, how hot and fat can you go with a Tele pickup and still retain the inherent sparkle and clarity of the guitar? Dare I say, the Tele-ness? Like I'm interested in the Super Distortion for Tele, but would hate to overdo it with the high output and low/mid boost.

For production Duncans, you have the Hot Rails or the Little 59. The Little 59 is brighter, but neither is particularly Tele-like. From the Custom Shop, you have a Pearly Gates or a Gilly to consider too, which add power and keep the brightness.
