Tele Bridge Question

I am trying to finalize the details for my next build, which will be an esquire/broadcaster prototype hybrid.

I want to install a left handed bridge so I can have the pickup at a reverse angle (sharper/tighter lows, warmer highs).

I would like to put in compensated saddles (preferably the Wilkinson "angled" ones), but my question is, are these saddles able to be used on both right and left handed bridges, or do I need to purchase right-handed specific saddles and install them on the left handed bridge?

Re: Tele Bridge Question

I can't say I have ever done what you are planning, but I see no reason why you can't use right hand compensated saddles on a lefty bridge.

Re: Tele Bridge Question

The swivel saddles should work equally well LH or RH.

Re: Tele Bridge Question

Since you aren't flipping the strings, you would of course want right handed saddles. Left handed ones would do the opposite of what you want compensated saddles to do.

Re: Tele Bridge Question

Hedge yo' bets. Rout for both LH and RH pickup options.

This over-sized cavity will be hidden beneath any regular Tele bridge. Might even accommodate a regular humbucker. ;)

The swivel saddles should work equally well LH or RH.

This is correct. In addition to the fact that they swivel, any saddle can be attached to any adjustment screw and any saddle can be removed from the adjustment screw, rotated 180 degrees and reattached.
