Tele Freaks

Re: Tele Freaks

Logo seems to be a '69 CBS or later logo...

if it was a '68 shouldn't it have been a transition logo?

Anyway.. questionable guitar.

Re: Tele Freaks

The tuners don't look like '68s, the logo doesn't look right, and to be honest, that thing looks far too new to be original. It might be a reissue, but I doubt it's genuine.

Re: Tele Freaks

something doesn't seem right about that guitar. the knobs and plate are scratched but the body isn't. if it is real maybe it was refinished. I would want a picture of the serial number i could read, then i would check it

Re: Tele Freaks

i find it weird that the body is in great shape while the bridge and control part are in sh*tty shape

Re: Tele Freaks

Seems to me that if it was such an old and valuable guitar, then Johnny Lang would have bought it.

Re: Tele Freaks

Well from what I can gather from my Telecaster History book:
1. The logo could be from a '69.
2. Don't know about a '68 but the '69 in the book only has one string tee
3. The serial # is suspect. It is listed as 224050, which again according to the book should be a 66 or 67 #. 68 is listed as mid 200000 #'s.

FWIW, I wouldn't buy this for a vintage tele price.
