Tele Hot Rails - Looking for one (1) volume and mini switch wiring diagram

Scoured the internet, gave quick search on this forum, and no luck. I'm new to this forum so I apologize if this can be found elsewhere on this site...

Anyone have a wiring diagram for Tele Hot Rails set with a standard 3 blade selector, one (1) volume, no tone, and an on-off-on mini switch for coil tap? I've looked everywhere, Guitar Electronics has one volume and 2 mini switches, but not for one.

If anyone has this or has a link, please let me know! I will officially name my Warmoth Tele after you...

Thanks!

Hi ReFried, and welcome to the forum! :D

You say that you want an on/off/on mini switch for coil split, but it can be done with a 2-way on/on mini if you want. Otherwise, how were you thinking of that switch to work (as in, which position would do what?)

Yeah, what Bri said. But it's even simpler than that. A 1-pickup split, only requires a simple SPST on-off switch. The simplest there is.

Whichever is simpler. Just want a volume and a mini switch. I've never installed a mini switch before (or omitted the tone for that matter), just push/pull pots so I was guessing on which switch I would need. I'm good with a soldering iron and like any man can follow color coded instructions and shiny things, but I claim ignorance on why certain leads go where (except grounding haha). Any help would be awesome, thanks :)

Just to clarify... you have TWO pickups that you want to split with one switch, right?

You got it, both neck and bridge pickups and I want to be able to coil split them with one switch. Both can be on or off together, I don't need one split and one not as I don't use the middle position on the pickup selector.

Here you go. I like this style of coil split because it splits the bridge to the north coil and the neck to the south coil... giving you hum canceling when both pickups are on and split. I think this will work quite well for you.

Well I have to reply back with photos because my guitar is now named BriGuy (as promised)! It's an old guitar though...so far I've installed and changed out Fender Noiseless, Bill Lawrence/Wilde stacked pickups, a Dimarzio Super Distortion with the Wilde neck pickup, and the hot rails, but now I want to change the controls.

Thanks again, you really helped me out.

LOL... it's no problem whatsoever, glad to do it.

But don't feel like you need to name it "BriGuy." Name it whatever seems to suit it best! (Besides, there's already a guitar called "BriGuy" on this site ;)).

I'm just glad it'll work for you! :fing2:
