I'm looking for a humbucker/high output/high gain tone and I've been looking at these 2 pickups as I don't want to route my tele bridge for a humbucker as its too much of a headache to do so. In the description, the hot rails is supposed to be a higher output version of the little 59, yet in the tone chart it reads as the little 59 having the high output and the hot rails a step lower. Any comments on this?

The Hot Rails is way hotter. I have one in my Tele and it kicks ass for metal and hard rock.

^Yup! The Tele bridge Hot Rails is a great metal pickup, beefy but cuts thru any mix + I find (due to the high output) they are very responsive to volume and tone control manipulations. I never had a problem getting trad sounding Tele tones by lowering the volume....hmmmmm, now you got me wanting one again.

Sweet! I'm planning on doing a few drop tunings and this pickup sounds like it won't muddy up in the low end. So I take it that this has absolutely no twang to it and has that take no prisoners tone. I was wondering if I need to change both 250k vol and tone pots to 500k? I don't use the tone knob alot, so would changing just the vol pot to 500k be sufficient enough? Thanks!!!

I used to have a lil59 in my tele and by no means was it a hot pickup. Since you want to do metal/hard rock I'd go with the hot rails.
Now the Lil59 It did sound great, far better than the JBJr I had in my strat.

+1 on the Hot Rails. I wired it with a series/parallel push/pull pot to reduce the oomph on demand and paired it with a '59 neck.

+1 Hot Rails. I have STHR b/n in my tele with coil tap on both. It is very versatile. It is great for all types of rock and metal.

Alright, thanks guys. You've totally made my decision. Will metalize my tele in a month or 2. Thanks again!
