Tele Humbucker mod - good/bad?

Re: Tele Humbucker mod - good/bad?

That's not possible, just for starters the slanted position kills that theory.

I think the slanted JB jr. on my main strat sounds better than it's non slanted full size big brother on my other strat. I guess this just contributes to the "not exactly alike" point, but sometimes that is a good thing :)

Exactly :)

I want to A/B test a slanted full humbuckers, too. I get the feeling this will make a real difference.

Thanks WhoFan for the info! I may go ahead and route that baby! :) Now to the big question....what SD to put in there.....;)

I did up my Korean Squier qith a GFS bucker routed Tele bridge with a SD Phat Cat. Alder body, mapl neck, TONS of crunch, sustain and it's responsive to the volume and tone. If you really want a bucker though I think a '59 or Pearly Gates would do well in a Tele.
