Hi I am building a tele
(swamp ash body, V-shape maple neck & fingerboard, butterscotch blonde nitro) I would like to use a Duncan broadcaster bridge pup and a nickel covered neck humbucker. Is a pearly gates neck a good choice? I mean in the sense of volume balance with the bridge pickup.
I also considered the 59 which is available with covers, but they have long legs, and I don't want to rout too deep round the neck area.
I also considered using the '59 neck, as it is available with a cover, but it's legs are longer, and I don't want to rout deep holes in the neck area. Also considered the Seth Lover Neck, but as it is unpotted I fear for squeel.
As the Pearly Gates pups are not sold with nickel covers, should I buy a separate cover and repot the pickup myself? (I have some previous experience).
If so, where can I get a nickel silver cover that fits?
Any feedback would be welcome!
