A Strat neck works in a tele body, but you have a little space in the corners where the neck meets the pocket. A 22 fret neck covers it up though.

I recently went through this same thing, since I'm putting a real Tele neck in a Schecter PT body and *&^%!! Schecter routes all their bodies with curved-end Strat pockets.
I came to the same conclusions as the answers above. I drew up a little picture of a Tele neck in a Strat pocket for illustrative purposes - it can be seen by following this link to my MIM Forum thread.
To put the Tele neck on a Strat body, the yellow areas are going to have to be removed, either by routing the body or sanding a 5" radius on the neck.

From the Warmoth Neck FAQ
"Strat® necks will fit Tele® bodies but show a gap at the corners. Tele® necks may not intonate on a Strat® body without neck pocket modification."
So you do need to follow Rich_S's routing/sanding suggestion if you want your guitar to intonate properly.
