Tele Neck Pickup

I'm thinking aobut a new neck pickup for my Peavey tele. Right now I have a Hot rails type pickup in the bridge and I use my (stock) neck pickup for Bluesy, clean and SRV stuff. I was thinking about either going for a nice clean and bluesy single coil or a little 59'r in the neck and then Coil Split them with a 5 way pickup switch. Has anyone done this? Do the Single coil sized humbuckers sound good split? Anything else helpful?

thanks

Thanks

I was also thinking maybe a Quarter Pound. Anyone have any experiences?

Also soundclips of how the pickup sounds clean, overdriven, distorted etc. would be awesome.

What's the difference between strat/tele hot rails? And little 59's sound great with teles but are made for strat.

Re: Tele Neck Pickup

Oh but it is only for the bridge position. So yea you will want a lil 59 for neck in the tele. Which means you need to pickup the strat model.

Many people have used strat pickups in a tele neck. Somebody just podted a video clip of his band playing lenny kravitz covers and his tele has a strat neck. Sound pretty good if you ask me.

There isn't a neck version of the Quarter Pounder but they do have a tapped version so you could try the tap lead for the neck position.

I'm 100% there's a Quarter Pound for Tele neck and Bridge.

Thanks to everyone, Bludave that'd be awesome if you could do that.

Sounds awesome soulman.
