Tele project - PRails, JB Junior, super switch

Hi all,

First time posting here so please be gentle with me..... I did have a look to see if anyone else has asked this but only saw superswitch/standard humbucker posts.

I'm working on a project telecaster: So far I have a squier body, modulus graphite neck, 59 junior for the bridge and a super switch.

I'll be getting the scratchplate custom made so have a lot of options for what I go with.

I want a neck humbucker and really like the look and options of the Prails.

Has anyone wired one of these to a super switch to give most/some/all of the options with anything other than another Prails in the bridge?

Current preference for options is:

1: Neck full humbucker
2: Neck parallel
3: Neck P90
4: Neck full humbucker and bridge split coil - (love this combo on my N2 and my PRS)
5: Bridge full humbucker

I may look at putting a mini 3 way on the 59 junior to give full/split/blower as I have on my N2 so position 4 can be both pickups

There's no problem with adding push pulls or mini switches for options but like the option of several things on the main 5 way. I've not even decided how many vol/tone pots to fit!

Is PRails even a good fit with the 59 or should I abandon the idea now?

Cheers

Welcome to the forum!

This sounds like a great project! You might consider a Triple Shot for the P-Rail, which would give you more options. Also, make sure you like the split sound of the Little 59 as it tends to sound better in parallel rather than split. The P Rails and the Little 59 is a good combo that should match well (although it won't sound particularly Tele-like, but I am guessing that isn't your goal).

Yeah not looking for the tele sound partically, I thought about the triple shot but not sure how quick and easy they are to change selection while playing?

They aren't too bad...you get good at it. It is easier than trying to do 2 or more moves with some combination of switches elsewhere on the guitar.

i have the triple shot rings with my prails set and i got pretty good at switching them quickly
