tele re wire

hello everyone,:smokin:
mind if i pick a few brains?
on my tele i have a "brent mason mod", that is a center pickup in a tele
w/3 way switch with the center pickup having it s own vul. pot wired through tone pot but not the switch.

so in the past i have replace master vul. pot w/ a push/pull to phase switch
the mini humbucker in the neck.
and a push/pull on the the blend pot to switch phase on center pickup.
it sounded great, however with the pickups in phase i lost the ability to blend in the center pickup :eek13:

i getting ready to refinish the guitar w/ nitro lacquer, i am going to route out
the cavity under switch plate, and make a large cover this will allow me to
wire it with the brent mason mod, and use 3 DPDT switches to phase switch all pickups.

Now!!! if there any electronic genuises out there!!!!
What size capacitors and or resistors, and or diode's if any would i need to make this center pick up still blend in?
And where do i put them?

thanks for N E help.

Re: tele re wire

sounds like you are going to a lot of work customizing this tele... why not just buy a 2nd tele or a body that is rear routed?

Re: tele re wire

yea i could but would still have to route front and make a switch plate
to have room for switches.

Re: tele re wire

PS-wouldn't a rear routed body from say Warmoth or USACG have a big enough rout from behind for all the electric work you want to install? Those Rear routed bodies will hold a lot of stuff!

And then instead of repainting your guitar you can start Nitro from a new raw wood body....

Re: tele re wire

yea the rear route will hold it but the control plate on the front is still the same size , so on it i 3 way switch master vol pot middle p.u. vol pot and tone pot. and still need to add 3 switches

i'm confused? Rear Routed you don't use the Tele Controll plate... you can drill whatever holes you want, where ever you want to in the route.... IF you want 6 pot holes a knife switch and 7 mini switches in there it could be done.. It opens a lot of doors having a guitar rear routed.... but once you drill the hole is there to stay.

Re: tele re wire

that would work but i d have to inlarge front route to put in a mini hum and route the middle pickup. in the end mo money and routing. i only need to inlarge my cavity about 5/8 of an inch just under the 3 knobs

Re: tele re wire

the hard part will be cutting the new switch plate cover , i ve put off this project for monthes becuase i could nt think of anythink to use to make a
control cover , but while in lowe's i saw a door push plate 5 bucks later
i got a control cover.:)

Warmoth would route for whatever pickups you want, at no extra cost... But ya the body would cost a few Humdred by the time it was shipped to you to paint. But when you have a rear routed body you have lots of space to add stuff to that a normal tele top route does not..

If you really want to stick with modding your tele by all means.. I was just trying to show there is options besides ripping into the wood of a tele that you could most likely never resale again.
