What is the difference between modern saddle, brass and brass compensated? As far as usefullness, tone, etc..

IMHO you only get true Tele tone (Twang) w/t the brass saddles.
The Brass compensated saddles I believie was devolped by Danny Gatton's Guitar tech to solve the age old problem of intonating
the brass saddles.

I prefer 3 brass vintage style saddles on my Tele. Sounds richer and less rattley than steel, which is a harder material than brass.

Brass sounds less steely than steel. ;)

Eric Johnson, BTW, uses a single brass saddle for just the high E string on his Strat...the other five saddles on his Strat are the usual steel. He uses brass on the high E string to fatten it up and so it doesn't rattle as much...so do I.

you know, after looking at the G &L ASAT Classics lately, it looks like they use 6 brass saddles. I like brass, but my 3 piece Barden bridge doesn't intonate as well as my AS tele.

You can get a mix of brass and/or steel saddles at Callaham guitars. Their products look pretty solid.

I have a Cal Tele. A Fender w/ strat(n) tele (b) it has 6 barrels in stead of 3 and it plays and sounds great!!!. How does it compare to a vintage Tele...... It doesn't
