Tele SM-3/JD combo question

Hi, I'm Steve, I'm a cancer...Oh, it's not that kind of "pick-up lounge!" Well...

I'm working on my tele project. MIM body (Alder I think) with a 50s RI MIJ tele neck. My new plan is to put a SM-3 (Seymourized Mini HB) in the neck and a JD lead in the bridge.

My questions:

1) Does that seem like a good pairing?
2) If I use a single Vol and a single Tone, will there be too much of a drop off between the output levels?

many people put a mini humbucker in the neck of a tele with a tele bridge pup.

you should be fine, the jd is a great pup and has a little more beef than a traditional tele pup

As Jeremy said, it should be fine. I have owned a few Teles; and in most of them, I have used a JD and a minihummer. It's always been the LP Deluxe style though..
