Ladies and Gents,
I have searched but not found the exact answer to this one question. All things being equal-pots,wood, wiring, etc. WHAT is the difference between a strat bridge and a tele bridge. no mods,-the sound, and why they seem to differ so much.
thank you in advance. I know this has come up but always goes off topic and tangents all over the place.

IMO with examples of the original versions the Tele can be hotter & beefier due in part to the brass plate affixed to the bottom of the pickup.

Check out the gear page for this one. There might be a million threads or so on it.

I was reading one while in traffic recently. It is probably on the first 3 pages still.

on teles the pickup is mounted to the bridgeplate. On strats the pickup floats attached to the pickguard. Tele bridges are screwed directly into the body. Strat bridges balance on a fulcum and some springs. Tele strings go thru the body then over 3 saddles which means double the downpressure. Strat strings run thru a metal block and go over one saddle per string. tele bridge pickups have a copper plate on the bottom. Strat bridge pickups (generally) dont.
