Tele vintage stack power boost?

telecast

I just put a pair of the duncan vintage noiseless stack pups in a tele. Sounds way better than I was expecting but it does feel pretty stiff to play, especially on the bridge pup, which I've heard is a common problem w/noiseless pups. I noticed the wiring diagram offers a 'power boost' option, which unfortunately eliminates the noise cancelling but seems to increase the output. My question is does the power boost option make the bridge pup feel less stiff and more natural to play?

I have to admit that I never tried the Tele stacks, although the Strat Stack Plus are among my favorite pickups. My guess is that eliminating the bottom (hum-cancelling) coil, you can get a true single coil sound. I never noticed a 'stiff' feeling from Stacks though...I am not quite sure what that sounds like.

General comment: Stacked/Side By Side pickups, even when split Arte quieter than regular single coils in General. Don't ask me - talk to Eric Johnson & Yngwie Malmsteen who did that with their DiMarzio HS pickups....
