Tele w/ 4 Way switch 1 vol 2 tone -- is it feasible?

Is there a way to have a 4 way switch, with master volume and independent tone controls on a Tele?

I realze that when in series, the B+N pickups effectively become one. So I am trying to figure if there is a way to take 1 of the tone pots out when in the series position?

...Racking my brain

Running individual tone pots would involve either connecting them via the selector switch or placing them in circuit before each pickup signal even reaches the selector switch.

My gut instinct is that the answer to your original question is no.

Why not use a 4 pole 5 way switch. You can assign any tone control to any position. Or none at all.
These have 5 input lugs and 1 output per pole.

I wire my positions with the bridge tone working on the bridge, B/m, and middle
the neck tone does the other two.
normally the n/m position has both tones in circuit with the normal switch.

You could use the extra position for out of phase parallel, oop series, add a tone capaciter, or just double up another combination.

Just a thought.

To do what you want on a 4 way switch, you would need 4 input lugs and 1 output (5 total) per pole.
with at least 2 poles.

The typical four pole, five way selector switch will not drop into the control cavity of a traditional Telecaster. Even the Japanese OTAX variety used on the Fender Jerry Donahue Tele required a notch to be made to accommodate it.

Tele control plates are available with the switch slot set diagonally but the four pole switches would still struggle to fit.

Jumble, who makes that switch? Is it easier to wire up than a stew mac superswitch?
That 1st wiring description sounds like the donahue mod.
How is the feel?
