Tele wiring project

Hi fellow modders,
First of all, if I posted this in the wrong group I'm sorry and could you be so nice as to tint me to the right one? thanks!!

Now... I've been struggling with a wiring project on my telecaster. What i wanted to do was to wire a P 90 in the neck and a broadcaster in the bridge using fenders dual concentric 500k/250k pot and a push pull pot for series/parallel switching. The idea was to solve the volume loss of oop pups by switching to series if I needed to. I also want to use a toggle switch instead of the usual three or fourway switches. I've wired the broadcaster out of phase to get the swing blues oop sound (neg = pos and pos = neg).
Here's what i've come up with so far... but... nothing!!! no sound what so ever... could some one pleeeeeeaaaase help me with this one? i've come so close with this whole project.

seems like you are missing some grounds. what type is your dp/dt swtich?

The switch is a cts push/pull on the 500k tone pot.
For further clarification: to the far right is meant to be the toggle switch. The far left are the concentric dualpots, end the tone pot has the dp/dt switch.
Forgot to draw the ground on the tone pot but the case of the pot is grounded.

You can't put two pickups in series that have their own volume controls. (At least, not in any practical way.) I'll chew on this as soon as I get a customers guitar done.

Thanks Artie, that’s kinda the answer i was hoping for, because I drew about a million schem’s and could’nt work it out. Thought I was going crazy ;-)

I did this quik-'n-dirty. This will give you an idea of how to approach this.

Take note of the red arrow. Normally, I use this diagram when only one volume control is used. The jumper at the red arrow prevents a dead spot on the 3-way when you select series mode. In your case, it would put both volume pots in parallel making a 167k load for the pups to see, but also prevents the guitar from going silent if you accidently select the bridge pup while in series mode. If you simply eliminate that connection, you get the "dead" spot, but keep the volume controls independent. The volume tied together only happens in series mode if you leave the jumper.

You could always try it both ways. Install the jumper, then snip it out if you don't like the affect.

Note also, the tone caps can be connected to the "input" of the volume controls also. Some like it one way, and others, the other.
Personally, I'd use one tone cap and connect it to the output of the 3-way. But that's just me.

Thanks a lot!!! That’s great. I’ll use the jumper I guess, because I can’t use the volume controls independent anyway. And yes, using just one tone cap on the end at the three way is a great idea aswell. Next week I’ll solder everything together and get back to you.

It worked like a charm. I had to operate on the p90 pick up first to remove the ground from it's case, but it went fine. I also chose the one cap solution on the output of the three way. And that made me wonder why aren't all master tone guitars wired like that?? it's way more logical and way more easy to do. And it's effective!! Anyway, a really big thanks to you Artie!!!
The jumper was left out. the sound is amazing and the "bump" from going parallel to series is just enough to lift it up and compensate for the oop canceling. Great!!
