tele wiring question

I just rewired my tele with a push-pull pot and now it buzzes whenever I touch anything metal on the body. What does this mean and how do I fix it?

You probably left off the bridge ground. I don't mean the bridge pickup, but a small wire that usually runs to the actual bridge and makes contact there. Often, thats done by just pinching some bare wire between the body and the bridge. Double-check to make sure its there and connected to "ground" somewhere. Might be the back of a pot.

Did you re-ground the new push-pull pot?

yes the bridge is grounded as well as the push-pull. could it be the input?

You mean the output?

If you have the two wires that go to the output jack reversed, you would get that symptom. Go ahead and check it also.

Check everything. There isn't that much wiring in a Tele.
