Tele with a Bigsby?

So I've been contemplating a certain build for a while - basically, a 60's Custom Telecaster in Sonic Blue, but on a Jazzmaster body and with a P90 in the neck. I want to make this thing as ****ing cool as possible, and then I saw this:

I think that would look so cool in Sonic Blue with a cream P90 in the neck. My question is, how much does it alter the Telecaster tone? Obviously, you can no longer have the traditional tele bridge, so there's that... anybody had a Tele with a bigsby? I'm leaning towards it because I like Bigsbys, and that looks SO ****ING COOL.

Re: Tele with a Bigsby?

I'm sure you could probably use a traditional Tele bridge and just file grooves in the back edge for the strings to pass through.

Re: Tele with a Bigsby?

If you pout a Bigsby on it you'll loose typical Tele tone. without the strings passing thru the body you start loosing it right there then that bridge (which floats like a Jazzmaster/Jag) has a LOT less attack and sustain than a Tele.

You could use a notched box bridge and get some of it back but you're still not going to be full on Tele tone.

Also think about one thing...sure they look cool but on a Tele the Bigsby handle is RIGHT in the way of the controls...every time I think about putting a Bigsby on my Esquire thats the thought I have...

Re: Tele with a Bigsby?

Somebody did a thread about Bigsby for Telecaster a few weeks ago. There was even a hyperlink to a demonstration video of how to perform the installation and the change in tone.
