Telecaster Poll!

Hi... I am in the middle of my recent build and was thinking of a 2-tone Tele body... but now I'm wondering if I should do natural ash or butterscotch blonde. I have a vintage tint neck, but the overall build is more modern (tuners, 4-way switch, Warmoth 2-way trussrod). Looking for input - what say you?

I've never been a butterscotch blonde fan, and I'm usually partial to bursts, but that natural one just does something for me! :fing2:

I may need a little "alone time" now...

I think you should get a non-tinted neck to go with your modern build, and send the tinted one to me.

Actually to add on, I'd make it a Vintage/Modern design, vintage looks and modern playability and features. Make it look like a '52 and play like the best guitar you've ever played.

My first guitar was a blonde Tele with a black pickguard and a Bigsby. I'm biased but my vote is for the butterscotch blonde.

All. Get one of each. I voted natural ash though because that's the finish of my first telecaster.

And the sunburst one looks so badass when it's the style on a *1960 custom - double bound body/mint green pickguard/rosewood fingerboard. Perfect balance of class and rock.

*I have no idea if 1960 is supposed to be some special year associated with the guitar's style or anything, but if you enter "1960 tele custom" on google images it shows exactly what I'm thinking of, so I'm just going with it.

Thanks to all for the votes and responses. I decided to go to GC and look at some examples in person. I have to admit, I am not digging the blonde in person. Very yellowy and the examples I saw felt like they had a huge amount of polyester on the finish. I also didn't really like the natural finish, so I think I'm comfortable moving forward with 2-tone sunburst!
