Telecaster questions

Hello folks.. I'm about to get a Fender Telecaster Japan, but if I can find a good American one for a nice price, i'll get. The question is: What are the main differences between the MIJ and the MIA? Are the wood used on the japanese models good? And how about the bridge, scale and pick ups? None of my guitars are stock, and I would like to have a good stock Fender if possible. Thanks in advance
The japanese guitar in question is this one:

Re: Telecaster questions

The Japan made Teles i believe are of high quality.... for an import.. they are known to use good wood, not bad quality hardware and pickups either... But to be honest here in Canada we do not see many MIJ Fenders anymore.... a few models do show up, but 98% of everything for our market is MIM and MIA... so it seems.

Re: Telecaster questions

I have both MIA and MIJ. The Japanese guitars are made from good quality woods, but inferior electronics. I changed the pickups, the switch and the pots in mine (52 RI Tele). It sounds awesome now I put a vintage 54 in the neck and a JD in the bridge.

The American Tele I have also sounds very good. It has a RW board and has Fender Tex Mex Pickups that were stock. I like this guitar more for slide, but it plays quite well for everything else as well. I think the primary difference is in the electronics. The MIJ Fenders are a very good guitar!
