I have a tele I am looking to add a single space humbucker to…
I was looking for something around 8 or 9 k….
is there a pickup?
could the custom shop build like a 78 pickup in the design?

Have you used Duncan single-coil humbuckers before? And those are too hot for your usage? I don't think you can go by the resistance rating alone to figure out the output. For example, the Duckbucker and Vintage Rails are 2.5k, which is the resistance rating of a Danelectro Lipstick pickup, but in the Vintage Rails case, it's because the coils are wired in parallel. If they made the 78 model at 8-9k in a single-coil size, it probably wouldn't sound like a 78 model. FWIW the Custom Shop Pearly Gates for Strat neck and middle are 9.8k (but those are among the few single-coil size around that resistance - don't know if they could make a Tele version). But I would go by the sound and match levels by trying the different pickups. Production model pickups have a 21-day exchange policy.

leaning towards the Lil 59 but was also looking at the choppper T as mentioned below…
I have used the BG1400 a while back…
and have had Lil59 in a Strat before…

just didn’t want a super hot pickup …

Start here: what kind of sound are you going for? The Pearly Gates for Tele isn't super hot. When looking at these smaller humbucker designs, you can't use the same DC scale that you use for regular humbuckers.
